A 78-year-old woman was yanked out of an Access-A-Ride car onto a Brooklyn street by the driver, who she said tried to steal her phone, cops said.
The appalling incident, which was caught on video and posted to Twitter, shows the male driver pulling the woman out of the backseat and closing the car door as she lies on the street trying to fend him off with a cane.
The woman had requested the Access-A-Ride vehicle to take her to a physical therapy appointment, ABC7 reported, citing police.
However, the woman said she noticed that the driver went past the drop-off point and claimed he refused to let her out of the vehicle, police told the station.
The pair got into an argument that ended with the driver ripping her out of the car by the leg at about 3:30 p.m. on East 35th Avenue near the corner of Avenue N in Marine Park, the report said.
A 35-year-old good Samaritan, who filmed the shocking video, intervened as the woman shouted “Call the police,” according to the video and cops.
He got the woman’s phone back from the driver after she yelled that the man had stolen it.

After the driver handed over the woman’s phone, he ran to get back behind the wheel and slammed on the gas pedal, striking the good Samaritan, who was trying to block him from fleeing, the video shows.
The good Samaritan then checked on the woman, asking if she was okay — to which she replied she wasn’t.
“I’m a 78-year-old lady and he threw me out of the cab, he took my money, he took my phone,” said the visibly shaken woman.
The senior put her face in her hands as she sat on the roadway with her shoes knocked off.
Both the woman and the good Samaritan were hospitalized in stable condition, cops said.
The driver remains at large.
