Tonight’s featured bout at UFC 266 isn’t one of the two title fights at the top of the main card. Instead, it’s a special five-round middleweight fight between the returning Nick Diaz and Robbie Lawler.
Diaz vs. Lawler is a rematch from UFC 47 and it’ll be the first time that Diaz has competed since January 2015 when he faced Anderson Silva.
There are a lot of questions surrounding Diaz’s return and how he’ll perform on the night but the betting odds are reasonably tight just one day out from the event. Lawler is a slight betting favorite against Diaz.
After more than six years away from the Octagon, former Strikeforce 170-pound titleholder Nick Diaz will rematch ex-UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler at the UFC 266 pay-per-view (PPV) event, scheduled for TONIGHT (Sat., Sept. 25, 2021) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Lawler was stopped by Diaz when they first went to war at UFC 47 way back in April 2004. Lawler (28-15, 1 NC), now 39, is the loser of four straight and hasn’t seen action since falling to Neil Magny back in summer 2020.
As for Diaz (26-9, 2 NC), who turned 38 just a few weeks back, he hasn’t won a fight in nearly a decade and spent the last six years on vacation.
